We have some amazing events coming up this week with plenty of Christmas-themed events. Too early? Yea, it always is! Anywho we might as well make the most of it and enjoy the winter spirit.

My goal is to help you make the most out of London. London’s certainly not the easiest city to live in, but if I can bring a little bit of joy to your life here, it will be worth it.

Robotics and more at innovation lates (FREE!)

Come join Innovation Lates for a night of hands on fun and inspiration. Conduct a choir of singing plants, get up close and personal with a robotic spider or lick a cloud. It's free to attend and come anytime you like between 6 - 10pm (this is a drop-in event).

Christmas at Kew

Christmas at Kew is back. From November to early January, discover 3km of enchanting illuminations, featuring over 20 dazzling installations, including some cherished favourites and exciting new displays. Stroll through glittering tunnels, admire vibrant lakeside reflections, and marvel at trees gleaming with jewel-toned lights. Wander by the fire garden’s warm glow, enjoy larger-than-life illuminations, and keep an eye out for Father Christmas!

Picasso: Printmaker Exhibition at the British Museum

This exhibition offers insights into Picasso's life through his art, including his complex relationships with women and his partnerships with printers, publishers and other artists. Spanning his entire career, it follows his engagement with different printmaking techniques and his changing approaches to making art.

The British Museum holds by far the UK's largest and most representative collection of Picasso's prints.

Leaden hall lights switch on (FREE)

The Lord Mayor of London will kickstart Christmas at Leadenhall Market on Thursday 14 November. The much-loved annual switch-on ceremony will take place from 5.30pm, with the Lord Mayor’s speech and Christmas lights switch on at 6pm, unveiling the full splendour of Leadenhall Market’s 18ft giant real Christmas tree, which sits under the breathtaking central star-covered atrium of the Victorian market.

EFG London Jazz Festival is back 15-24 November 2024!

The EFG London Jazz Festival is set to return from November 15 to 24, 2024, marking its 32nd edition. This annual event will feature over 300 performances across more than 60 venues throughout London, including renowned locations like the Barbican and the Royal Festival Hall.

The festival's diverse lineup includes acclaimed artists such as guitarist Pat Metheny, who will perform solo shows in the UK, and oud virtuoso Anouar Brahem with his quartet. Additionally, the festival will introduce "The Jazz Social," a new pop-up venue serving as a central hub for attendees.

St Katharine Docks’ Christmas Lights Turn On (FREE)

Visit the marina to see a dazzling display of Christmas lights and decorations. The Docks will sparkle with maritime-themed lights, enchanting lanterns, and a radiant Christmas tree. A new highlight this year is a life-sized, walk-through illuminated boat—perfect for capturing the holiday magic!

This free event will include uplifting performances by school choirs from St Peter’s London Docks Primary and Stepney Greencoat Primary. Santa will also stop by, spreading cheer with delicious mince pies and early holiday treats for the little ones.

Wander through a garden of glowing roses

Starting Thursday, Mayfair will be home to a breathtaking field of 30,000 glowing white roses. The Ever After Garden in Grosvenor Square is a beautifully lit installation designed as a garden of remembrance, raising funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Stroll along paths lined with radiant roses, pausing to reflect. While visiting is free, you can choose to dedicate a rose in memory of a loved one with a suggested donation of £10.
