The London Doozy

Wednesday 4th December - Tuesday 10th December

🍂 Hello, Londoners, and welcome to our new subscribers! 🍂

We have some fantastic events kicking off December this week with Trafalgar Christmas Tree Lighting, an alternative Christmas celebration in Leake Street, Light Exhibitions and more!

London Shower Thoughts

If Londoners are leaving fake rave reviews for Angus Steakhouse to mislead tourists, does that make it the city's most well-done prank?

Angus Steak House used to be a “hidden gem” a “secluded hideout” in the heart of busy Leicester Square. Now it’s become a tourist trap…what has happened to my beloved Angus Steakhouse.

A Little Bit Of History?

With Trafalgar Squares Christmas Tree lighting this week, what better time to shed some history of this event.

Each year since 1947, the city of Oslo, Norway, has gifted London a majestic Norwegian spruce, typically over 20 meters tall and around 50 to 60 years old, as a token of gratitude for Britain's support during World War II.

The tree is carefully selected from the forests surrounding Oslo, where foresters affectionately refer to it as the "queen of the forest."

Photo Of The Week?

A picture of the new “Mars“ installation in Greenwich by Luke Jerram. The Installation feautures a seven-meter-diameter sculpture of Mars with detailed NASA imagery.

The artwork rotates slowly, accompanied by a surround sound composition by BAFTA-winning composer Dan Jones, including clips from NASA missions to Mars.
